About this experience

Trade noise for sea,
screens for jungle, routine for real life

Pacífico Profundo y Aventura is for travelers who want to go beyond the beach. Across four days in Nuquí and Jurubirá you'll go herping through the jungle in search of frogs and reptiles, watch birds and take in the region's unique flora, float and unwind in the natural hot springs of Jurubirá, have lunch at Playa Blanca in PNN Utría, and plant a mangrove tree that will leave your mark and support the region's conservation long after you head home.

This experience has limited spots by design. It's not a mass-market tour — it's a real immersion into one of the planet's most biodiverse ecosystems, alongside people who have known it their entire lives. During whale season (June–October), there's also a good chance of spotting humpbacks.

Practical tips

Travel recommendations

👟
Footwear — Grip shoes for jungle and river. The terrain can be uneven and humid. Sandals are not suitable for the hikes.
🎒
Clothing — Warm, humid climate. Bring light, quick-dry clothing, a light layer for the evenings, and something waterproof for the sea.
🦟
Insect repellent — Essential. Preferably biodegradable to protect aquatic ecosystems. Apply it before every jungle outing.
📅
Booking — Limited spots. Confirmed with a 30% deposit. Full balance due one week before the trip.
🐋
Whales — In peak season (Jun–Oct) there's a high chance of sightings during the day at sea. In other months, the marine excursion is just as rewarding.
📶
Connectivity — Jurubirá has very limited signal. Let your contacts know before heading out and enjoy disconnecting.
Responsible tourism
Real community impact

Jurubirá isn't a destination.
It's a living community.

Jurubirá is one of the Afro-Colombian collective territories of the Pacific. Its people have cared for this rainforest, these rivers, and these beaches for generations — not because anyone told them to, but because their lives depend on that relationship with the territory.

When you travel with us to Jurubirá, your stay, your meals, your tours, and your guides are all local. Every peso stays in the community. The tree you plant will keep growing. The talk with the native guide is a real exchange, not a tourist show. And Ecojurubirá Tours — our partner in the territory — is building a tourism model that strengthens community autonomy without sacrificing culture or ecosystem.
